Welcome to my website. I hope you enjoy my work and find something to interest you.

I have been drawing and painting all my life, studying Art in Education whilst training as a teacher which enabled me to professionally teach and encourage students of all ages from the very young to adults. I now work for myself from my cottage studio in Rutland. Although I find drawing from life an unbeatable way of engaging with any subject, I frequently use sketches and photographic reference material in the studio for extended pieces of work, which range from finely detailed pen studies to free and emotive abstract pieces. My dog Toby assists by keeping me company and arranging periodic exercise for health and inspiration!
I give talks and demonstrations to art groups and societies, visit schools offering workshop experiences and give private tutorials online or in my studio.

All monochrome drawings are fine line works created giving the effect of etchings, executed with a 0.1mm pen using light proof ink on ultra smooth Schoellershammer acid free paper.

The oil or acrylic paintings are on stretched canvas, the majority without frames, enabling clients to choose a frame compatible with their own decor. The miniatures however, are supplied framed and ready to hang.

The watercolours are supplied with an appropriate mount, again leaving the choice of framing to the client.

Commissions of houses and favourite views are accepted, please see Commissions page.
